DCM Shriram Group has new faces in its leadership rank. While Hameed Jung has joined as vice president and group learning head, DCM Shriram, Pallavi Poddar has joined as CHRO, Fenesta Building Systems, which is also part of the DCM Shriram Group.

Talking to HRKatha, an enthusiastic Poddar says about her joining, “Fenesta is an established big brand that definitely needs focused attention. Since it is highly manpower oriented, we do need the right capabilities to not only bring focused skills on the platform, but to shape its next growth trajectory”.

Poddar, who is a commerce graduate from Kanpur University, holds an MBA from SCMHRD, Pune. She has over 18 years of experience in specialist and business partnering roles across various organisations such as Ingersoll Rand, Schneider, Nestle and Saint Gobain.

In her last stint with Ingersoll Rand, she was working as the regional HR director for Middle East, India & Africa. Her primary responsibility was to facilitate business growth and success by focusing on organisation design, change management, leadership development, talent management, and employee engagement. She has also led few successful mergers & divestitures and provided her leadership support in managing those projects.

In her new role at Fenesta Windows, Poddar will focus on partnering with the business to help achieve the exponential growth vision of Fenesta, by aligning the business and HR strategy. Her expertise will help develop a contemporary organisation culture by transforming and leveraging HR systems and processes.

Jung is an MBA in HR from TISS Mumbai, and also holds an MA in political science and international relations from the School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi.

With over 17 years of professional experience, Jung has had the opportunity to work in a variety of roles across industries, with companies such as Right Management, ICICI Prudential, General Motors, General Electric and more recently, Baxter.

As the talent-management head with Baxter, he was responsible for setting up the entire talent and learning function in India from scratch. He also institutionalised the talent review and planning process for all of Baxter India’s entities and had also set up their entire learning and development architecture.

In his new role at DCM Shriram, Jung will focus on driving a comprehensive learning and development agenda for the Group, while focusing on behavioural and functional development, to ensure that people are future fit. Talking to HRKatha, Jung expresses his optimism and says, “My role is not just confined to leading the learning and development framework here, but extends to streamlining a common group strategy to ensure that everything is aligned with the future aspirational growth of the Company as well as the people here.”.
