Avni Malhotra of IIM Sambalpur managed to bag a job at Microsoft at an annual CTC of Rs 67.60 lakh. The placement season saw all the students of the 2021-23 batch being placed with the average salary of Rs 16 lakhs per annum being offered to MBA students.
The average salary offered to female students was Rs 18.25 lakhs.
Amongst the organisations that participated at the placement this year were Accenture, Microsoft, Amazon, Ernst & Young, Amul, Vedanta and Deloitte.
About 130 companies participated and the the number of first-time recruiters went up by 56 per cent.
The average salary has gone up by 26 per cent and the median salary has gone up by 29 per cent this year at IIM Sambalpur. The top ten students of the batch bagged an average salary of Rs 31.69 lakh per annum.
In January, the Indian Institute of Management in Rohtak (IIM-R) also witnessed a remarkable 16% rise in the annual CTC offered to its students during the job placement process for its two-year post-graduate programme.
The average salary for the Post Graduate Program (PGP) offered was Rs18.73 lakh, showing a 16.7 per cent increment compared to the previous year’s average salary, which was about Rs 16.06 lakh.
