Viekas K Khokha has joined Sharda Motor Industries as senior VP and chief human resources officer (CHRO).

An auto-ancillary company, Sharda Motor Industries provides advanced products and services, including emission and suspension systems, roof systems, and supply chain management solutions.

Khokha began his career at Ascom Holding AG in 1998 as a product executive. In 2000, he transitioned to Bharti Airtel, where he served as the general manager of human resources. Following that, Khokha spent six years and four months at Zimmer Biomet as the director of human resources before joining upGrad as a senior course consultant.

Before taking on his role at Sharda Motor Industries, Khokha held the position of chief human resources officer at Dhanuka Agritech.

Sharing his excitement about this new role, Khokha says, “With a rich blend of experience in both sales and HR, along with a proven track record in steering large-scale transformation projects in the telecommunications and healthcare sectors, I am now poised for an exciting venture as an HR leader at Sharda Motors”at a time when the company is about to undergo a big change”.

He points out that the role demands more than just the conventional responsibilities of an HR position; it calls for a dynamic leader who can navigate and pioneer change.

At Sharda Motors, he will be focused on cultivating a progressive culture that resonates with the company’s desire to not just talk about diversity and inclusion but to extend it into various facets, including gender, sexual orientation, disability and beyond.

Furthermore, he adds, “My expertise in talent transformation aligns well with Sharda Motors’ goal to revamp its workforce.” Understanding the company’s quick decision-making makes him a key player in successful transformations.

Khokha earned a degree in strategic human resource management from XLRI, Jamshedpur, and was recognised as a global fellow in talent management in 2018, by the Wharton School for human resource development.
