AI-focused telecom technology company blackNgreen (BNG) plans to expand its technology workforce by 65 to 100 per cent over the next 12 months as it increases hiring in India and international markets.
The company also expects to double its sales and business development teams within six to eight months and recruit six to seven senior leaders.
The proposed expansion is significant for a company that reports employing more than 400 people globally. However, BNG has not disclosed the current size of its technology team or the absolute number of new positions it intends to create.
Around 75 per cent of the new positions will be based in India, with the remainder deployed across Africa, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Recruitment will cover engineering, product development, marketing, sales and business development.
The hiring plans coincide with a wider push to integrate artificial intelligence into the company’s telecom products and everyday operations.
According to BNG, automation has reduced operational effort from 7,200 to 2,200 person-hours, while feature-development sprints have shortened from 15 days to seven days. The company also claims that the development cycle for new product launches has fallen from approximately one year to four months.
Employees across functions are being trained to use AI tools and develop their own applications, extending AI adoption beyond specialised technology teams.
“Taking AI to new markets at this pace needs a bigger and stronger team. We are hiring across engineering, product, sales & marketing, in India and globally, and we want people who use AI every day to build faster and solve harder problems,” said Rahul Gupta.
Alongside recruitment, BNG is changing its performance management and rewards practices. The company has moved away from a fixed-curve appraisal system and introduced growth-linked profit sharing across employee levels.
It also says high-performing employees can begin working on live operator networks within three to six months of joining, with opportunities to progress into product leadership roles.
According to the company, commercial traction has doubled over the past five months. BNG has linked this growth to company-wide rewards and profit-sharing payouts, with most of the rewards going to employees outside senior leadership.
“Our growth model is built on ownership and shared success. People at BNG build products for live operator networks within months of joining, share in the value they create, and progress on capability,” said Atul Tiwari, chief human resources officer, blackNgreen.
Founded 18 years ago, BNG serves customers across more than 80 countries and says it handles over a trillion transactions each month. Its expansion plans reflect a dual emphasis on automation and workforce growth as the company builds AI-enabled products for global telecom networks.
