Shree Ramkrishna Exports (SRK), a diamond major in India, has vaccinated all its employees with the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 50 per cent of its employees have received the second dose. With over 5,500 workers at its diamond craft facilities in Surat, SRK has more than 200 employees working at its headquarters in Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB), BKC, Mumbai.
The vaccination drive was conducted within the office premises of the Company, as per the guidelines of the Government, for which SRK had tied up with the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC).
The Company has taken all sorts of precautions to curb the spread of the COVID – 19 virus amongst its employees. It has been strictly following all social-distancing measures within its offices and plants. It has installed various technology, such as thermal sensing system and hand sanitiser stations at various check points inside the offices and factories. A COVID Task Force had been created to help or assist its employees during the crisis, especially during the second wave.
“At SRK, we strictly prioritise the health and well-being of all our people. Vaccination is currently one of the most effective tools to fight against COVID-19. All our personnel have received the first dose, and we are on track to administer the second dose too at the earliest once they become eligible for the same,” says Jayantibhai Narola, entrepreneur, rough procurement & manufacturing.
Narola admits that it was because of the hard work and cooperation of civic body officials that the doses could be smoothly administered to the employees.
The Company has been encouraging all employees to get vaccinated, though the whole vaccination drive is voluntary in nature.
