Airtel staff will upgrade their skillsets in domains, such as emerging technologies, network technologies, cloud computing and leadership and soft skills.

Bharti Airtel has partnered with Coursera, an online learning platform, to train and equip its employees with advanced skills, so that they are future ready. The Airtel employees will be given access to the online learning platform, Coursera for Business, and can learn the emerging skills as required.

Coursera for Business has designed some courses specially for Airtel staff which will upgrade their skillsets in domains, such as emerging technologies, network technologies, cloud computing and leadership and soft skills.

Given the fact that the telecom industry is changing fast with the adoption of advanced technologies, such as robotics, AI, machine learning, and so on, it is important that the workforce at the telecom companies are equally equipped with the latest skills to deal with these changes.

Airtel is also going through a digital transformation to be ahead of the market and establish its leadership in telecom.

Lots of job roles, which exist today will be obsolete in the near future and new roles will come up. These new roles would require new skill sets, so reskilling is critical for workforces.

Airtel is also going through a digital transformation to be ahead of the market and establish its leadership in telecom. Coursera will help Airtel in its digital transformation by providing courses on machine learning, data science, digital technology, cyber security, cloud, IoT and some soft skill courses, such as leadership and HR Skills.

The employees who complete the courses successfully will receive certificates from Coursera, which they can add to their professional credits and qualifications.

The course will include machine learning, data science, digital technology, cyber security, cloud, IoT and some soft skills such as leadership and HR.

Commenting on the partnership, Srikanth Balachandran, global chief human resources officer, Airtel says, “With technology changing dramatically, it is changing the way organisations operate and the role of an individual is evolving as well. We have always promoted a strong culture of learning within our organisation as we feel that it is imperative to equip employees with specialised skills of the future. We aim to create a rich pool of talent across verticals to contribute to our vision of building a digital Airtel.”

Talking about the partnership, Raghav Gupta, India country director, Coursera says, “Keeping in mind the emerging technologies, it is of foremost importance for companies to keep their workforce ready for the future.”
