Ogilvy, New York-based PR, marketing and advertising company, has elevated Jag Dhanji to the position of chief people officer.

Dhanji had joined Ogilvy in 2017 as its chief talent officer (CTO) for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA region). She has taken over from Brian Fetherstonhaugh, and will report to Andy Main, CEO, Ogilvy and Jacqui Canney, CPO, WPP.

Prior to joining Ogilvy, Dhanji held HR leadership roles at Costa Coffee, Vodafone and Diageo. At Ogilvy, she has helped build an empowering culture that encourages employees to perform to the best of their abilities. She is a commercial HR leader with vast experience in global talent management and organisation change, gathered from her stints with fast-moving organisations across established and emerging markets. She also excels at building trusted working partnerships across all levels and cultures to deliver business performance.

Dhanji has spent over seven years with Diageo in the HR function, as talent and OD manager, Africa, then as HR business partner, global innovation & legal. Within five years, she became the global talent strategy manager, before moving on to be the HR director, South Africa. Her last held position at Diageo was that of head- global talent strategy.

In 2011, she joined Vodafone as HR designate. In her four-year stint there, she rose to the level of head- HR, global shared services organisation. Her next stop was Costa Coffee, where she worked as HR director, EMEA & support functions for just over a year before moving to Ogilvy, in 2017.

Dhanji will continue to promote an innovative, inclusive and fun environment at Ogilvy.
