    IIMC hiring academic-cum-teaching associates; walk-in interviews today

    Indian Institute of Mass Communication is hiring seven academic and teaching associates, who will be appointed on contract. Only candidates with a master’s degree in mass communication, or journalism or any discipline in the social sciences may appear for the walk-in interviews today, that is, 28 August. However, an excellent command over Hindi and English is a must along with a minimum of three years of experience in the field of media or teaching.

    The salary remuneration will be Rs. 35,000 per month.

    Graduates in any discipline with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and postgraduates in journalism or advertising and public relations, or television and radio or Hindi/ English journalism with an excellent command over Hindi and English may also apply.

    For IIMC teachers’ posts, UGC NET qualification in mass communication/journalism is desired.

    Those selected for the academic-cum-teaching posts will be required to work closely with the respective course director lending support in the day-to-day functioning of the academic programme of the concerned department. They will also be expected to help the respective departments to manage, train and teach the students. They may be called upon to evaluate assignments submitted by students and also teach the postgraduate diploma students.

    They should be able to guide students in professional and academic matters, while also lending support to the course director in industry interface for internship programmes. In addition, they will be required to complete other work/assignments that the course director may give them to do.

    Applicants are required to carry their CV along with a passport size photograph and all required documents, for verification during the interview.
