    Job offers of Rs1.54 crore made to IIT Roorkee students

    At the ongoing annual campus placement session at IIT Roorkee, three students of BTech final year were offered a salary of Rs 1.54 crore per year. The students, who belong to the computer science, electronics and engineering physics streams, received the offer from an American multinational company, whose name is yet to be made public.

    About 406 job offers were made on the first day of the placement session, which will continue till 15 December.

    The highest offer made by a domestic company this year has been Rs 62 lakh per annum, while the highest global package has been Rs 1.56 crore. With 30 companies participating, about 406 job offers were made on the first day of the placement session.

    In the previous academic session, a total of 1,127 job offers were made to students and the highest job offer of Rs 1.50 crore came from Microsoft. The session this year has only just started and will go on till 15 December.

    Among the participants this year are, Uber, SAP Labs, Amazon India Development Centre, Oracle, Salesforce, American Express India, Google, Sprinklr, AppDynamics India Pvt. Ltd., Bajaj Auto, BNY Mellon Technology, Cohesity, Goldman Sachs, Jaguar Land Rover India, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Microsoft, Nutanix Technologies, Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), Squarepoint Capital, and Texas Instruments.

    At IIT Madras too about 20 companies including Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, and Qualcomm made about 102 offers to students in the first phase of placement session.
