Idea2IT — a Silicon Valley-based IT company, which has a delivery centre in Chennai — has gifted 100 Maruti Suzuki cars to its employees in recognition of their hard work and loyalty. The car models include S-Cross and Baleno, for which the Company has spent about Rs 15 crore.

Ideas2IT maintains that this is not an attempt to retain people alone, because the Company has an attrition of merely 2.5 per cent, but a way to express gratitude to its employees and show them that it values their hard work and contribution to its success.

The Company, which has a delivery centre in Chennai, decided to share its success and profits with all the employees who have served for at least ten years, irrespective of role.

Murali Vivekanandan, founder and chairman, Ideas2IT, believes that the loyal and well deserving employees of the firm have earned these cars.

While this is the first time the employees are receiving cars, the Company is known to be in the habit of sharing its wealth and success with its employees. In the past, the employees have received gold coins and iPhones as gifts.

The firm, which started off as a consultancy comprising a small team of six engineers, has now grown into a 500-strong workforce. It has offices in various locations, including India, Mexico and the US. It has big names such as Microsoft, Facebook, Motorola, Bloomberg, Oracle and Roche amongst its clients, and has witnessed extraordinary growth in the last four years.
