Wipro’s AI-powered learning agent iSkill has crossed 7,500 conversations with employees since its launch in December 2025, as the IT services company looks to make upskilling more personalised and accessible across its workforce.
Developed within Microsoft 365 Copilot, iSkill helps employees identify relevant learning programmes based on their roles, functions, skills and previous certifications. The agent is available through Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Teams.
The tool currently has more than 100 active unique learners. It works alongside Wipro’s AI Academy, the company’s internal learning platform established three years ago to build AI capabilities across its workforce.
The Academy currently offers 144 persona-based learning paths and courses covering areas such as AI and cloud. The catalogue draws from thousands of courses and programmes available through partner platforms.
The AI agent was introduced to address a challenge created by the scale of this catalogue. Employees had access to a large number of learning options but could find it difficult to determine which programmes were most relevant to their roles and career goals.
iSkill uses employee profile information, including role, band, function, skills and completed AI and cloud certifications, to identify suitable courses from the Academy’s catalogue.
The technology is built on Microsoft’s ecosystem. Employees access the agent using their Wipro Teams identity. Microsoft Fabric Data Agent retrieves relevant employee information from internal datasets, while a Power BI semantic model supports the recommendations. The learning catalogue is hosted on SharePoint.
Wipro has also introduced access controls because the system uses employee role and learning information. Access is limited to authorised users, while role-based controls prevent managers from viewing individual employees’ learning histories.
The development comes as Wipro expands its focus on AI-led capability building. The company said 96 per cent of its AI Advanced+ courses at the AI Academy were completed between January 2025 and March 2026.
The adoption of iSkill reflects a broader shift towards using AI not only to deliver work but also to personalise employee learning and development at scale.
