The International Finance Corporation (IFC), which is a part of the World Bank Group, is looking for interns for its four-month ‘Global Internship Programme (GIP)’, which will begin in May 2022, in New Delhi. However, these are work-from-home opportunities.

Those interested may apply before 7 March, 2022.

There are 37 internship positions available in Research Climate Finance, 17 in India Country Strategy and 56 in India Climate.

Candidates need to be actively enrolled in a master’s degree programme with an estimated graduation date after 1 December, 2022. The candidates for Research Climate Finance should have a background in economics, climate and sustainable finance.

In case of internship in India Country Strategy, candidates with an MBA or background of finance or economics will be preferred.

Candidates must be Indian citizens or possess an overseas citizenship of India (OCI) card, and must have work experience of a minimum of three years in a related field.

The research climate finance internship role involves supporting the financial institutions group (FIG) advisory team in undertaking secondary market research and preparing training modules to mid-level and frontline employees of Indian financial institutions to spread awareness about climate finance.

India climate interns will get a chance to work on joint initiatives such as country climate development report and conceptualise a transformational project that can offer climate business opportunity for IFC in the region.

For India country strategy, the interns will be involved in creating and supporting proposals for new investment projects and financial products with corporate groups, among other activities.
