Amazon is gearing up to host a Career Day in India, for the first time, on September 16. It has 8,000 roles open currently, across 35 cities.
According to amazoncareerday.com, the event is free, and will take place on September 15 (North America) or 16 (Europe and Asia), depending on the location. In India, this interactive and free virtual event is scheduled for September 16, 10 a.m. It is open to all job seekers “regardless of level of experience, professional field or background”, and whether they wish to work with Amazon or anywhere else.
This event, which is a step towards India’s digital transformation, will also witness Amazon leadership and employees coming together to share their experiences at the Company. In India, Amazon will hire for 8,000 positions across, Mumbai, Kokata, Gurgaon, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Amritsar, Noida, Jaipur, Coimbatore, Kanpur, Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Ludhiana, Pune, and Surat. It is looking for talent for its corporate offices and for its operations, technology and customer-service teams.
Another interesting feature of the event is the fireside chat with Andy Jassy, CEO, Amazon, who will share his experiences and offer advice to aspiring employees.
The virtual job fair is being hosted simultaneously in Italy, France, Spain, Japan, Germany, Canada and the UK too. Earlier, the fair was organised in the US alone. It was decided to include other locations after seeing the overwhelming response to the US event in the past two years.
