Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has resumed salary hikes, with most employees set to receive an increment in the range of 4.5 to 7 per cent. The top performers, however, are likely to get a hike in double digits, that is, a minimum of 10 per cent.
The increments will come into effect this month, that is, September 2025.
It is pertinent to mention here that these hikes were supposed to have come into effect in April. However, given the uncertainty that prevailed globally, TCS had decided to hold back increments and yearly reviews then. The hikes that have been announced now are similar to the last couple of years in terms of bands.
The increments for the senior managers, who fall in the C3 band, are yet to be announced.
A majority of employees at India’s largest IT services firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have received an annual salary raise of about 4.5-7 per cent, with exceptional performers bagging double digit hikes of at least 10 per cent, the company said.
In July, the company had revealed its intention to trim its workforce by about two per cent. The move was to have impacted about 12,000 employees primarily in the middle and senior levels.
Following the announcement, the Union of IT & ITES Employees (UNITE) had staged a protest in Chennai to express their concern at the government choosing to not act or intervene.
The protestors had demanded action and had labelled the company as greedy and cruel. Media reports said that UNITE members feared that the layoffs could actually affect up to 40,000 employees. UNITE had also pointed out that the company was in no financial crisis that required job cuts. In fact, it has been doing well in terms of revenue.
