The facility on the e-KYC Portal has further added a new feature to link UAN with Aadhaar online using biometric credentials.

Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has introduced the UAN-Aadhaar linking facility for the convenience of members using EPFO Link in UMANG Mobile App. This is in addition to the existing web facility already available at EPFO’s website.

The facility on the e-KYC Portal has further added a new feature to link UAN with Aadhaar online using biometric credentials.

With the help of the aforesaid facilities, EPFO members can link their UAN with Aadhaar as under:

    • To use the facility with the UMANG APP, members will have to provide their UAN.
    • An OTP will be sent to the UAN’s registered mobile number. After OTP Verification, the members will have to provide Aadhaar details and gender information (wherever gender information is not available against UAN).
    • Another OTP will be sent on the Aadhaar registered mobile number and/or e-mail.
    • After OTP verification, Aadhaar will be linked with UAN where UAN and Aadhaar details are matched.
    • To use this facility through the e-KYC Portal, members will have to provide their UAN.
    • An OTP will be sent to the UAN registered mobile number.
    • After OTP verification, members will have to provide Aadhaar details, gender information (where gender information is not available against UAN) and select Aadhaar verification method (using mobile/e-mail-based OTP /using biometrics).
    • Another OTP will be sent on the Aadhaar registered mobile number and/or e-mail or biometric will be captured using the registered biometric device.
    • After verification, Aadhaar will be linked with UAN where UAN and Aadhaar details are matched.

Moving towards Digital India, EPFO has also launched the e-nomination facility to help members file nomination forms. This functionality is available at the member interface of the EPFO Unified Portal.

Any member with activated and Aadhaar-seeded UAN, can avail this facility.

This functionality is independent of the employer. After giving nomination details online, the members have to digitally sign the nomination. Aadhaar-based eSign, which is being provided to members free of cost by EPFO, is used for digital signing of nomination forms. Only members’ mobile numbers are to be linked with Aadhaar. This functionality will also be made available on the UMANG mobile app soon.
