The agency has come up with this offer because employees demanded it.

WPP-owned creative agency, Grey, has come up with a lucrative offer for its employees. It has allowed them to choose workweek of four days in lieu of 15 per cent pay cut.

The agency sent an internal memo to its employees saying that this offer compliments the existing ‘flex arrangements’ that allow employees to work from home or rearrange their hours to better fit with their personal and family lives.

The offer has been made in response to employees’ demand for the same. The agency understands how difficult it is for anyone, even single parents, to manage children and their priorities.

The Company clarified that the offer wasn’t a way of saving money and that it had bagged three new businesses over the past year and wanted the staff to be retained.

The objective of this proposal was to provide a better work–life balance.

The internal memo that was sent to the employees said:

“Hello Grey NY,

We are pleased to announce the launch of a new Reduced Workweek Programme.

The demands of balancing professional and personal responsibilities are a concern we often hear from our employees. To address this, we are offering a reduced workweek programme that allows employees to work four days per week for 85 per cent of their full-time salary. The programme is designed to benefit employees and Grey. It gives employees flexibility and more free time to help balance work and personal demands, while it allows Grey to structure and operate in a more flexible, agile, and efficient manner as we reimagine our agency for the future.

This programme is a separate benefit from our FlexPlace (Work from Home) and FlexTime arrangements, which will remain in place — however FlexPlace (Work from Home) will now only be offered on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

My Morning Zone, our new programme to provide employees with time to be inspired, will also remain in place for full-time employees working a five-day workweek.

If you are interested in participating, please speak to your manager.
