During his visit to SAP Labs India in Bengaluru on Sunday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz expressed the need for Indian IT and tech professionals in his country.
He stressed that this requirement applies across all employment domains, but particularly in areas such as software and IT development, which he witnessed firsthand during his visit.
Scholz shared that one of the major policy changes under consideration is the admission of skilled labour into Germany without a prior job offer.
He also mentioned that the German government intends to ease the bureaucratic obstacles that currently hinder individuals from moving and working in Germany.
Scholz revealed plans to introduce a new system that would enable talented and skilled individuals to apply for a visa to Germany even if they haven’t secured a specific job contract. They can then search for job opportunities in Germany.
The Chancellor highlighted the importance of having good proficiency in the German language for those who intend to relocate to Germany.
Chancellor Scholz urged Indian professionals to enjoy the benefits of the opportunities available in Germany. He further suggested that he is very sure that many Indian professionals would be interested in seizing the chance to work in Germany as skilled workers.
Accompanied by a substantial business delegation, Chancellor Scholz intends to advance discussions regarding an EU-India trade and investment agreement.
Besides strengthening economic ties with India, his visit also included discussions on Russia’s military intervention in Ukraine. The visit holds particular significance ahead of this year’s G20 summit in September.
