Ride hailing company Ola’s EV business, Ola Electric Mobility (OEM), is planning to hire people for various roles in the coming months. The hiring will mostly focus on getting at least half a dozen more senior executives on board.
People will be hired across levels, ranging from junior- to mid-level as well as senior positions in different spheres, including battery technology, EV Powertrain, vehicle engineering, business development and cutting-edge software or app development.
This decision was confirmed following the appointment of Vithal Acharya as the new human resources head.
Even in these difficult times, OEM has avoided layoffs and refrained from resizing. It is not only going to recruit more people, but has announced ‘Mission:Electric’, indicating that it is keeping its stakes high on the electro mobility segment.
The mission is a collaborative platform to bring 1 million electric vehicles on the road for everyday mobility by 2021
The company is working with vehicle and battery manufacturers, cities, driver-partners, and the mobility ecosystem to make electric mobility convenient, dependable, and affordable.
According to a Company spokesperson, OEM plans to take on more than 75 new hires from campuses in the coming months, for which they will be approaching the best business schools and premier technical institutions in the country.
Earlier, it was reported that Ola had gone for one-time restructuring exercise for India mobility business, Ola Foods and Ola Financial Services. Not long ago, the cab aggregator had furloughed about 1400 employees in India.
