The initiative will be under Niti Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship platform.

Niti Aayog launched a ‘Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) last week on Women’s Day, and online retailer, ShopClues, has offered its support by agreeing to mentor and impart skilling to 12 young women entrepreneurs for a course of over one year.

WEP’s vision is to empower women and encourage a competitive entrepreneurial ecosystem in India. WEP will act as a point of dissemination of information pertaining to existing government schemes, programmes and various other initiatives in the private sector to promote women entrepreneurship.

The platform aspires to substantially increase the number of women entrepreneurs who will create and empower a dynamic new India. WEP will provide opportunities to women to realise their entrepreneurial aspirations.

Radhika Ghai, co-founder and CBO, ShopClues, says, “With the Women Entrepreneurs Programme, I now see it as my responsibility to foster young talent and set a good example of reaching for excellence and skills in entrepreneurship.”

“At ShopClues, we are trying to create a culture where we invest in and encourage the next generation to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, where we embrace each of our tasks and roles with honesty, focus and passion.”
