The Haryana Education Department will be starting its pilot project regarding applying for child care leave (CCL) online.

It has been decided that the process of application for child care leaves will be taken online and further process will also be handled on an HRMS (Human Resource Management System) portal.

The state Government kick started this project for the women employees at their schools. As part of the first phase of the project, (PGTs) post graduate teachers can apply for CCL online. After that this service will be available for other women employees in the schools.

Child care leave is not applicable for male employees.

The Haryana Education Department has taken this initiative so that women teachers do not have to travel from pillar to post to check the status of their application leave.

The whole application process will be handled by the officer in duty who will be responsible to grant approval. Moreover, officers will be imparted training on handling the leave application process on the HRMS system.

Female teachers in Government schools and colleges cannot take a child care leave for more than 30 days at a stretch. Women employees can only take upto 730 days of child care leaves in their entire career for their two children below the age of 18 for illness and exam preperations.

Recently, the Haryana Government gave orders, that if a female teacher takes a child care leave for more than a month, she will be transferred to a different location.
