    Warner Bros Discovery plans to establish development centre in Hyderabad

    On May 16, 2023, as part of his US tour, KT Rama Rao, Telangana industries and IT minister, met with Alexandra Carter, senior vice president of finance at Warner Bros. Discovery. The discussions emphasised a shared vision between both parties to foster growth and innovation in the media and entertainment industry.  

    Warner Bros. Discovery, a prominent global media and entertainment conglomerate, boasts an impressive portfolio of renowned brands, including HBO, HBO Max, CNN, TLC, Discovery, Discovery Plus, WB, Eurosport, Animal Planet, Cinemax, Pogo, HGTV, Cartoon Network, and Quest.  

    Warner Bros. Discovery’s decision to set up an office in Hyderabad demonstrates its intention to harness the immense opportunities presented by the Indian market.

    The Information Development Center (IDC) in Hyderabad will serve as a strategic hub for Warner Bros. Discovery’s operations in India. In its initial year, the IDC plans to employ 1,200 professionals, with intentions to expand its workforce as the business continues to grow. This move not only signifies the company’s commitment to establishing a presence in India but also highlights their confidence in Hyderabad as a thriving hub for the media and entertainment industry.

    Warner Bros. Discovery’s foray into Hyderabad is expected to bring a range of exciting opportunities and benefits. The establishment of their office will not only create employment prospects for skilled professionals but will also contribute to the growth and development of the local economy.
