Ajax Engineering, a concreting equipment manufacturing company, has recently appointed Joseph Peeris as its new chief human resources officer (CHRO). In his new role, Peeris will lead the human resources function of the company and play a key role in advancing its strategic growth and development.
Widely known as Joe, Peeris brings over two decades of experience and expertise in various aspects of human resources. Throughout his career, he has effectively managed HR operations across industries such as metals & mining, refinery, energy, automotive, auto component, and engineering.
During his distinguished career, Peeris has held many senior leadership positions in renowned companies such as ELGI Equipment, Vedanta Resources, Hinduja Group, Ashok Leyland, Jindal Steel and Power, and Renault Nissan Alliance India.
His longest stint was with Vedanta Resources where he was associated with the company for close to 9 years. He served the company as its CHRO and vice president-human resources. He also started his career with Vedanta in August 1996. He joined the company as its head HR and served the role for 8 years. He then moved on to ELGI Equipments as its CHRO in August 2004.
His expertise lies in encompassing strategic business support, employee communication, recruitment, compensation and benefits management, HR process and policy development, performance management, talent development, employee relations, and training and development.
On his appointment, Peeris expressed his excitement about joining the Ajax family. He conveyed his delight at assuming the role of CHRO and acknowledged the ambitious plans that require concerted efforts across all HR aspects to facilitate Ajax’s transformation journey. “Together, we will build an empowered, inclusive, and high-performing organisation that attracts and retains top talent,” he added.
Joseph holds a bachelor of arts degree in English and a master’s degree in human resources management from the University of Madras. Besides his strong interest in corporate social responsibility, he takes pleasure in networking and engaging with people, always eager to share his expertise and enthusiasm for human resources.
