Ashok Kanojia has been appointed group head-rewards and people processes (Godrej Group Companies) and HR head GFM and Corporate Centre. He was earlier rewards lead and commercial HR head – South East Asia, Godrej Consumer Products, based out of Jakarta, Indonesia, for more than six years.
An alumnus of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Kanojia began his professional journey with Nestle, as assistant HR manager, West region sales branch (sales HR), after four months as management trainee, in 2008. By the time he left Nestle in 2012, he had been elevated to the position of manager – talent management and OD (South Asia region).
He joined Kimberly-Clark as head – talent and compensation & benefits and HRBP for corporate functions, in 2012. After a successful five-year tenure there, he moved to Godrej Consumer Products, in 2017.
After over five years as the lead for the HR Centre of Excellence, South East Asia, based out of Jakarta, he was elevated to rewards lead and commercial HR head – South East Asia. His role involved planning, leading and driving strategic and operational people solutions in partnership with business.
He headed the rewards functions as well as HR for sales, marketing and R&D functions for South East Asia.
After spending more than six and a half years with Godrej Consumer Products, Kanojia will now be heading rewards and people processes for the Godrej Group and serve as HR head – Godrej Fund Management and Corporate Centre.
Having studied leadership principles and disruptive strategy from Harvard Business School, Kanojia is a strategic leader, keen learner and seasoned professional. Among other qualities, his attitude, ability to motivate and mentor, and his change-management skills will be an asset in his new assignment, based out of Mumbai.
