    Capgemini appoints Sayan Guha as director-global AI & data science practice

    Guha moves to Capgemini after over a decade with Cognizant

    After a decade with Cognizant, Sayan Guha has joined Capgemini as director – global AI & data science practice.

    An alumnus of Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, Sayan Guha began his career as a software engineer with Tech Mahindra (formerly Mahindra Satyam), in September 2006.

    He then moved to IBM in 2008 as a data integration (ETL)  consultant, working out of Kolkata.

    Guha’s next stop was Wipro Technologies as project leader-data integration and data modelling. In less than two years he was promoted to data architect-retail and consumer -United Kingdom, in June of 2013. This role saw him working out of Watford, England.

    After a successful five-year tenure with Wipro Technologies, Sayan Guha joined Cognizant as a data architect-cloud data solutions practice (data -on-demand), in August of 2016.

    Over three years into this role, he was elevated to data architect – AI and analytics (retail & CG North America- delivery unit). He was promoted to senior architect-Generative AI- innovations / data architecture/ cloud platform solutions.

    By October of 2023 he had reached the position of associate director- AI & analytics  (practice and community lead -agentic AI/ gen AI/deep learning). Since then he has been building community capabilities on Generative AI and practising the standards of responsible AI.

    Now, in his new role, Guha’s ability to thrive on turning disruptive tech into structured value and bridge deep tech with business outcomes will prove to be an asset to Capgemini.
