Aditya Birla Textiles at Grasim Industries, a flagship company of Aditya Birla Group, has appointed Chandra Bhattacharjee as its new chief human resources officer (CHRO). She announced the appointment through LinkedIn. She has been a part of Aditya Birla Textiles as CHRO since August 2023.
With over three decades of industry experience, Bhattacharjee has been with Aditya Birla Group for almost two decades serving the company in various roles.
In 2004, she joined Aditya Birla Group as it group head-HRMS and young talent management. In this role, she implemented ans managed the rollout of its group-wide HRMS solution on PeopleSoft HCM 8.9. Additionally, she provided strategic overview of the young talent management portfolio. She was responsible for the recruitment, training and leadership development of MBAs from premier management campuses. In 2009, she was elevated to the role of programme director-Gyanodaya, for the Group’s learning institute.
In 2010, Bhattacharjee joined Aditya Birla Minacs as its PeopleSoft practice head and held the role for two years.
In the year 2012, she joined Aditya Birla Group as its head-HR projects. In the year 2013, she moved to Aditya Birla Management Corporation as its head-HR. Based out of Mumbai, under her leadership, she ensured that the best in class HR strategies, policies, processes and HR services were made available to the Aditya Birla Group Corporate Centre.
In November 2016, Bhattacharjee joined Grasim Industries as its CHRO. In this role, she led the Aditya Birla Group’s domestic chemicals, insulator, chemicals and fertiliser businesses for over seven years.
Besides Aditya Birla Group, she has also worked with the National Stock Exchange, DGP Windsor, Silverline Industries, and Larsen & Toubro.
An alumna of XLRI Jamshedpur, she holds a graduate degree in science from Delhi University.
