Ganesh S elevated to global CHRO position at Emeritus

Emeritus, the global edtech startup, which makes high-quality education accessible and affordable to individuals, companies, and governments around the world, has elevated Ganesh S. to the role of global chief human resource officer (CHRO).

Having started his association with Emeritus in 2019, under his leadership, the team at Emeritus has grown extensively, doubling in the last one year. He has been leading the development of innovative initiatives including the launch of Emeritus’ Instructional Design Academy, a training programme to cultivate talent and create career opportunities to bridge the gap between those who wish to join the online learning revolution and the paucity of professional training available in India.

An alumnus of Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Ganesh has served as head – talent acquisition (South India) and all India campus for TCS e-Serve for four years, from 2006 to 2010.

He has also served as HR manager at Citigroup Global Services for over two years.

He then joined Bharti Airtel as senior manager – HR business partner, and successfully completed a tenure of almost one and half years.

His next stop was HSBC, where he was VP – HR for less than three years, before returning to Citi as VP and head – HR, global decision management centre.

In his new role at Emeritus, Ganesh S. will be responsible for all aspects of Emeritus’ employee and workplace operations, talent management, pay and benefits and global recruiting. He will also continue to lead Emeritus’ response to the impact of Covid-19 on its workforce.

Ganesh’s appointment comes at a time when Emeritus is scaling and growing rapidly across the globe to support the vital need to upskill and reskill the workforce across all sectors coming out of the pandemic.

With close to 20 years of HR experience across diverse industries like BFSI, telecom and edtech, Ganesh brings extensive knowledge across the HR spectrum ranging from complex end-to-end HR strategy development, driving key talent decisions, embedded organisational values, regional compliances and culture transformation journey.

A graduate in computer science and engineering from Cochin University of Science and Technology, Ganesh reveals that “Over the past two and a half years, I have had the honour of working with A+ talent as we build and grow the business to achieve this mission”.I

He is looking forward “to continuing to help Emeritus scale its impact, while supporting and growing our incredible team of talent around the world.”

Emeritus recently achieved a milestone of 50 per cent women, 49 per cent men and one per cent male non-binary team members. In India alone, Emeritus has taken on close to 1,000 team members.
