JLL has announced some major changes in its top HR leadership team. Tanvi Choksi, who was leading the HR function in India, has been promoted to a regional HR role as the head-HR for Asia Pacific region.

Choksi will take up her new role with effect from 1 January, 2022. With this elevation, Choksi will step into the shoes of Helen Snowball, who has further taken on a global HR role, of leading the Company’s new people solutions and experience divison.

As the head of HR for India, Choksi was instrumental in providing the business with strong people leadership, particularly during the challenging times of the pandemic.

Choksi joined JLL in 2017 as its head-HR for India and has been with the Company for over four years now. Before JLL, Choksi was with Johnson & Johnson for 10 years, where she served in various HR roles in different capacities.

Choksi joined Johnson & Johnson in August 2007 as HR manager, but quickly rose up the ranks. In March 2016, she was elevated as HR director – J&J Medical India & Asia Pacific Diabetes Care.

She started as an HR generalist for two business units, the finance & supply chain group, business development as well as the sales & marketing services. She also handled talent management, campus recruitment, employee onboarding and learning & development.

She launched a rewards and recognition programme (Leadership and Growth Awards) for the entire organisation, to create a recognition culture at the workplace. She also introduced the WOW Awards to provide instant recognition, across different functions, for a job well done.

Choksi was the key person behind the design and launch of the induction programme —GenYsis: A new beginning— as an initiative to increase collaboration and shorten the settling-in time for the new joinees at J&J.

A two-time winner of the President’s award across J&J Pharma—Choksi won in the Rising Star category, in 2009, and then in the Enabling Champion category in 2010.

A postgraduate in PMIR and human resources from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Choksi has also worked for companies, such as Tata Motors and Monsanto India as HR manager.

As Choksi moves up the ladder at JLL, Meenakshi Cornelius will take over from her. Cornelius will lead the HR function for India at JLL with a 100-member HR team developing sustainable talent-management practices to support the leadership team in India. Cornelius is currently the head of HR, Asia Pacific at JLL Work Dynamics Account Management.

Cornelius joined JLL India as head of HR in 2016 and has been with the Company for over five years now. Prior to joining JLL, Cornelius was working with Genpact as HR business partner leader, working with clients in the manufacturing verticals across sites.

In her more than two-decade long career, Cornelius spent the largest chunk of her time at Genpact for about 14 years. She joined Genpact in 2007 as business HR for the insurance segment framing policies and framework for over 600 employees. In her 14-year stint at Genpact, Cornelius rose up the corporate ladder and saw a lot of success.

“Tanvi is an exceptional leader who will now bring her deep expertise and passion for our people to our entire Asia Pacific region. I’m proud that the appointments of Tanvi and Meenakshi demonstrate JLL’s commitment to career progression,” shares Mary Bilbrey, CHRO, JLL.
