Kathrina Rath, who is currently senior vice president – human relations, at Continental Automotive Technologies, is all set to move to DB Schenker come December. Rath has been working with Continental for almost two decades.

She will replace Thomas Schulz, who is leaving Schenker in October, at the end of his regular appointment period. Schulz stayed with DB Schenker for eight years.

Jochen Thewes, CEO, DB Schenker, admitted that Schenker had “achieved many significant developments under the HR leadership of Thomas Schulz”, and that Rath can now step in and work to bring about further progress. Thewes shared that the Company looks forward to Rath using her knowledge, network and expertise to drive the logistics company’s global transformation process and ensure that DB Schenker continues as “an employer of choice”.

Forty-seven-year old Rath has a degree in psychology (diploma) from the University of Regensburg.

On September 14, DB Schenker India opened its largest 25000 sq m warehouse in Badli, close to New Delhi.

Vishal Sharma, CEO, cluster India and Indian Subcontinent, DB Schenker says, “This facility in Badli is part of our broader plan to develop similar large-scale #warehouses in India and double the warehousing capacity to 650,000+ sq m from the current national footprint of 325,000 sq m. This we target to accomplish by 2024. The development will greatly enhance DB Schenker’s footprint in the Indian subcontinent to serve all our customers in all vertical markets.”

DB Schenker, the global leading logistics service provider, is a 100 per cent subsidiary of the German railway company, Deutsche Bahn.
