Okaya Power Group now has Atish Bhattacharya heading human resources and administration.  Before joining the battery manufacturing company, Bhattacharya was heading HR for Ozone Overseas, as VP –HR.

Bhattacharya began his journey in HR with Larsen & Toubro’s ECC division, where he joined as a management trainee from campus. There, he handled the HR/ personnel functions and administration of about 4000 workers and staff at one of L&T’s sites in Indian Oil Corporation Panipat Refinery Expansion Project, Haryana. He also handled the recruitment and selection of contractual employees at site level.

Almost three and a half years later, in 2007, he moved to Voltas, in a business HR role for the electromechanical and refrigeration business group ( EM&RBG) based out of the corporate office and north regional office. After a successful tenure of over two years, Bhattacharya joined Samsung India Electronics.

During the stint with Samsung, from 2009 to 2010, in a business partner role, Bhattacharya managed the HR functions for the entire North region, that is, 12 branches, based out of New Delhi.

His next stop was Bharti Infratel, where, over a period of almost four years, he essayed multiple roles including talent acquisition manager, HRBP for corporate office, lead- shared services and circle HR head – UPW. By the time he moved on in 2014, he was senior manager- human resources (HR business partner/ circle HR head- UPW circle/talent acquisition).

September 2014 saw Bhattacharya taking up an assignment at AccorHotels India, as regional manager – HR, India region.

His next stint was with Greenlam Industries, where he joined as assistant general manager – talent acquisition and employee engagement in 2017. By 2019, he had risen to the position of deputy general manager – human resources.

Less than five years later, he found himself at Ozone Overseas.

A graduate in industrial chemistry from Delhi University, Bhattacharya completed an MBA in human resources from the University of Pune. He also went on to complete a postgraduate certificate programme in human resource management from XLRI, Jamshedpur.

Known as a proactive and result-oriented professional with talent acquisition as his forte, Bhattacharya will certainly prove to be an asset for the Okaya Power Group.
