Rajesh Kumar Rai has joined MRL Tyres as vice president – HR, after leading the HR function at Uniworth Group as VP-HR.
For Rai, the people-centric culture, the passion for innovation and the ambitious growth plans at MRL — erstwhile Malhotra Rubbers — are what attracted him to the organisation.
The senior leader comes with 33 years of experience in HR management, including industrial relations, turnaround and change management, talent management, training and development, employee engagement, mergers & acquisitions and other human-resource disciplines.
Prior to Uniworth, Rai has served in senior HR roles at Emami, Adani, Aditya Birla, GHCL, and Continental over his more than three-decade long career, handling the entire gamut of HR.
Rai has joined MRL at a very crucial time, when the workforce is still settling into the new normal and aggressive expansion plans are on. He will be responsible for establishing the tyre manufacturing company’s global human resources strategy, such that it is fully aligned with MRL’s enterprise business plan
Given his strong business acumen, it is hoped that Rai will drive HR management and provide the foundation and support necessary for MRL to continue its growth trajectory in the coming years.
The New Delhi-headquartered MRL Tyres has its manufacturing facilities in Greater Noida, and sells its products — agricultural, industrial and off-road tyres as well as light commercial vehicle tyres and allied materials— all over the world, having made a mark in over 90 countries, across all continents.
