Rani Desai, who was the chief learning officer at Deloitte, has co-partnered with a five year old company, Centre of Strategic Mindset (COSM).

As the chief learning officer at Deloitte, where she spent seven years, Desai was responsible for building a strong leadership pipeline for the organisation. Now, as the managing partner at COSM, an organisation which provides consultancy on leadership and coaching, she is into a new role with different responsibilities.

“Now I am into a completely different role, with responsibilities, such as getting business for the firm, which I have never done before in my entire life,” shares Desai with HRKatha.

“Yes, it will be a challenging role for me and a great learning. But I like taking up challenges, and so far I am enjoying my job. It is a really flexible role and allows me to take out time for my other engagements and work. It depends on how agile you are to overcome new challenges in life.”

Deloitte has promoted Sandhya Shetty from senior manager to director, and she will now take on the responsibilities, which were once handled by Desai.

With over 20 years of experience in HR, Desai has served in various roles. She has a diverse experience in sectors ranging from IT, automotive, logistics and management consultancy.

She joined Deloitte as chief people officer and then went on to become the chief learning officer.

Having completed her postgraduation in personnel management from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, she also completed a master’s in law from the University of Bombay.

Desai is also a certified leadership coach.
