    Shyamala Shukla joins Suzlon Group as senior VP & head-HR

    Shukla moves from CK Birla Group, where she was group vice president-human resources since 2022

    Suzlon Group has appointed Shyamala Shukla as senior vice president and head-HR, India business. She was earlier group vice president, human resources, CK Birla Group.

    Shukla began her professional journey with Bharti Enterprises in 1999, as assistant manager-HR. Three years later, she moved to Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, as manager-HR. Then she did a short seven-month stint with Perfetti Van Melle, as manager-HR before moving again.

    In 2006, she switched to Ranbaxy Laboratories, as senior manager-HR.

    For the next three years, she spearheaded the generalist HR function across corporate departments and global consumer healthcare.

    Her next stop was Stryker, in 2009, as head-human resources, Stryker India. At this medical technologies firm working in the healthcare space, she spearheaded the HR function for the company in India, while developing and driving the people strategy for the business.

    The year 2015 saw her join Medtronic as director-human resources, Covidien India Engineering Centre, Medtronic. Four years into this role, she was elevated to the position of director-talent acquisition, Asia Pacific Region. For the next nine years and ten months, she successfully led the talent acquisition CoE function for over 15 countries across Medtronic Asia Pacific Region (South East Asia, Indian Subcontinent, South Korea, Australia & New Zealand and Japan). She was accountable for building and executing the regional talent acquisition strategy.

    Her association with CK Birla Group began in 2022, when she joined as group vice president, human resources, responsible for the 25,000-strong workforce spread across 41 manufacturing facilities and 21 service-delivery locations.

    Shyamala Shukla‘s  global mindset and rich experience are sure to stand her in good stead in her new assignment at Suzlon Group that provides renewable energy solutions across 17 countries.
