Worldline, the e-transactional services and financial services firm, has appointed Jose Raj, as the SVP & head – HR. Raj comes with almost 27 years of experience in HR and has an expertise in culture transformation, employer branding, leadership and talent development and talent acquisition. Raj will be succeeding Zarin Bhathena, who was earlier spear heading the HR function for the firm.

Prior to this, Raj was the director – people & culture, Vestas Wind Technology, where he spent more than four years.

He commenced his professional journey as a personnel officer with Dong-In Stone, a manufacturing firm. He has worked with big brands, such as Ford and Royal Enfield. In his long career, Raj has extensively worked in the IT and manufacturing sectors and brings a mix of HR and IR experience to the table.

He honed his skills in factory compliance management, union negotiations, contract labour management, talent and campus hiring in the IT sector, as well as corporate HR working with firms such as JTS technologies, Sumi Motherson Innovation Engineering and Sanmar Engineering. In 2004, Raj joined Ford India as manager – HR and spent a little more than a year in the firm. In 2006, he moved to Royal Enfield as the deputy GM – HR. After spending one and a half years at Royal Enfield, Raj moved to Orano, an Oil & Energy firm, where, in less than four years, he got two promotions. His last position in the firm was that of country director – HR for India.

Expressing his happiness on Raj’s appointment, Deepak Chandnani, managing director, Worldline South Asia & Middle East, says, “We believe his vast experience in areas, such as talent strategy & development, compensation & benefits, business partnering and industrial relations across several industries will be a great asset to the company and its success.”

Looking forward to working for a “company with a global presence, led by talented and passionate people encompassing superior technical expertise,” Raj reveals that his “vision is to further imprint our great culture and continue to provide a positive and safe working environment, a healthy work-life balance, right conditions for the development of skills and talents and make Worldline the preferred employer of choice in the digital payment space.”
