Nearly 8,000 employees of the municipal corporations in Jaipur have announced they will go on strike beginning on Wednesday.
This strike poses a significant challenge for the municipal corporations, as they are currently preparing for the upcoming Swachh Survekshan-2023.
The employees have been agitating for a long time over the recruitment of 4,500 sanitation workers and have demanded that priority be given to employees who were engaged on muster roll before 2018 in the recruitment process.
The workers plan to go to the wards and mark their attendance before demonstrating and planning further protest strategies.
However, the administration has stated that there are no pending demands from the sanitation workers related to the municipal corporation.
This strike may cause disruptions in the city’s sanitation services and could potentially affect the success of the upcoming Swachh Survekshan-2023. It is unclear at this time how the situation will be resolved.
