For experienced civil engineers looking to join India’s infrastructure development, here is an opportunity that is just right. The last date for submitting applications to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for the posts of head-technical and head-toll operation is 5 November, that is, tomorrow.
The posts offer a salary of up to Rs 29 lakh per annum along with an official vehicle.
Those possessing a regular BE/BTech degree in civil engineering from a recognised university may apply, provided they are below 55 years of age. In the case of retired government officials, the age limit is 63.
At least 20 years of experience in the road sector is a must, whether serving government organisations, public-sector undertakings (PSUs), autonomous bodies, or private firms.
Initially, these contracts will last two years and may be extended based on requirement and performance.
Candidates keen to offer their candidature for the said posts need to apply via the official site of the the NHAI, that is, nhai.gov.in by 5 November. The NHAI has the right to make changes to the process or even cancel the recruitment without any prior notice, if its chooses to.
The NHAI was constituted by an Act of Parliament (the National Highways Authority of India Act) of 1988. It shoulders the responsibility of developing, maintaining and managing the National Highways entrusted to it and/or matters concerning them.
