As part of its endeavour to explore the future of work, slice, the Indian credit card challenger startup, has launched a three-day work week under its ‘Code in 3’ programme. Under the programme, the Company hopes to bring in at least 100 people in the next one year, and add about 1000 team members over the next 5 years.

slice will hire full-time engineers, product managers, as well as designers to work on the Company’s major projects including decentralised products, stocks and alternative investments, and ‘buy now pay later’ (BNPL) and so on. The hires will be offered competitive salaries and the flexibility to work from anywhere. Despite working hours limited to 20 – 25 hours every week, there will be no cut in employee benefits.

Rajan Bajaj, founder & CEO, slice, acknowledges the presence of a “large group of driven and competitive people who are looking to work on projects which interest them, but find it difficult to balance it with their standard job”. slice aims to “provide the team with the flexibility and means to innovate. By adopting an agile approach to work, we want to eliminate anything that does not add value while avoiding unnecessary bureaucratic reporting,” he says.

The objective of the programme is to not only provide broader exposure to different technologies, but also give people a chance to broaden their work portfolios. “We have some interesting projects in the pipeline for whoever is up for the challenge,” reveals Bajaj.

The present workforce strength of slice is 450 employees, and it is already ramping up hiring for the next year. With a product-first approach, the Company is gearing to launch some exciting developments and make financial services even more fun and interactive for millennials and GenZ.

It recently launched slice super card and has been scaling fast with over 100,000 new cards issued every month. The slice super card aims to bring high transparency and simplicity to the payments and credit industry in India. It comes with one of the best rewards programmes as well. Every slice member can avail up to two per cent instant cashback on every transaction, and enjoy unique offers across popular brands, including Myntra and Zomato. The option of dividing their monthly bill into three months without interest at no extra cost is also available.

The Indian credit card challenger for payment of bills, management of expenses, and unlocking of rewards aims to reinvent the way traditional credit cards work, by offering a simple and transparent app to facilitate convenient transactions for members. Slice already has four million registered members with an average age of 25.
