    Biswajit Roy named director, HR & BD, at OIL

    Roy has been credited with the launching of various HR initiatives at OIL.

    Biswajit Roy has been elevated as the new director, human resources & business development, at Oil India Ltd.

    Roy, who spent over 32 years in the oil Industry, has worked across functions such as marketing, operations, business development and human resources. He has also served an overseas stint at Dubai.

    At OIL, Roy was instrumental in kicking off some of the HR initiatives, such as leadership (assessment) centres and multi-rater (360) appraisal system. He is also credited with the implementation of the electronic performance management system (ePMS), formulation of new vision and its implementation strategy, besides heading an Industry team for setting up of the ‘Hydrocarbon Sector Skill Council (HSSC)’.

    A chemical engineer from IIT Roorkee, Roy has also completed the National Management Programme (NMP) from the Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon.

    His works have been published in many national and international journals and he has made presentations at international forums.

    Roy has bagged many coveted awards, such as ‘Overall Winner’ of the prestigious Global HRD Award 2014, presented by the International Federation of Training & Development Organisations (IFTDO).

    He is a core committee member of the National HRD Network (NHRDN), Delhi and NCR Region for the period 2014–16, for building the ‘HR brand’.

    Roy has also been chosen to be a certified ‘entrepreneurship’ trainer by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
