    New CHRO and chief D&I officer for Barings

    Barings, the international investment management firm, has appointed Caroline Mandeville as its chief human resources officer and Chasity Boyce as its new chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer.

    Mandeville has a long history of being engaged in financial services, working for brands such as Hartford Financial Services, TIAA, MassMutual Financial Group and Retail Brand Alliance.

    She has industry experience in asset management, financial services, insurance, retail and manufacturing along with experience in human resources, management, being a business partner, generalist, talent acquisition (general, college, executive) and project management.

    Her portfolio also mentions a specialisation in change management, talent management, organisational effectiveness, organisational design, project management, consulting, coaching and development, employee engagement, workforce and capacity planning, as well as compensation and recruiting.

    Mandeville, as the CHRO of Barings, is entrusted with driving a high-performance culture of collaboration and ensuring that the employees are completely engaged. Her deep understanding of the finance industry makes her ideally suited for the position.

    As for Boyce, she is a strategist, problem solver, team player and former litigator with experience in advising senior teams on operations, strategy and innovation. She has relevant diversity and inclusion expertise from previously being the D&I head of Heitman (VP) and before that an HR manager at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom LLP Affiliates.

    She is also the co-founder of the first pipeline programme exclusively for first-year women of colour law students. The chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer role was created at Barings to enable the firm to recruit, recognise and retain a diverse global team.

    Boyce, with her years spent as an attorney, is expected to bring a level of passion and professionalism to this role and help Barings strengthen its position as an “enlightened employer”.

    Barings has a workforce strength of about 2,000 employees spread across 15 different countries.
