MakeMyTrip, the Indian online travel company, has introduced a series of wellness initiatives to help its employees relax, recharge and get over the pandemic-induced fatigue. It has introduced mandatory paid time off to be availed before the end of this year.

The Company hopes its employees will be encouraged to pause, disconnect from official commitments, and revitalise themselves by spending quality time with their loved ones or taking a much-needed holiday.

This initiative will allow employees to take paid time off for three working days before December 31, 2021. They will be allowed to club these offs with a weekend to get an extended long break. All managers will help their teams plan these leaves in advance so that productivity is not hampered in any way.

Yuvaraj Srivastava, group chief human resource officer, MakeMyTrip, says, “Our employees are our biggest assets and their well-being is our top-most priority. Our new initiatives reflect our commitment towards our employees and we hope it will help energise the workforce as they take this time for self-care while also continuing to support COVID-impacted employees with medical and financial assistance.”

With employee privilege discounts, special deals and other value adds – the Company offers specially curated, hand-picked holiday options for its employees to choose from, making this mandatory leave irresistible. Additionally, it has also introduced the Jumpstart Week with employee engagement activities to reinvigorate the workforce. Starting July 5, the Company will host group recreational activities and sessions involving not just the employees but also their families. These sessions include an interaction with India’s tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi, online cocktail making sessions with employee Happy Hours, and creative contests among other fun activities.
