Future Generali India Insurance (FGII) celebrated Pride month in a show of support to the LGBTQIA+ community. It organised a flash mob as well as a Pride parade at its office in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore, where employees came dressed in rainbow colours and were presented a celebratory merchandise kit comprising flags, badges and sweet treats.

Along with the management and staff of Future Generali, the event was attended by celebrities and supporters of the community such as Celina Jaitley and Sushant Divgikar.

Wishing the employees and the world a “very happy and empowered Pride month”, Anup Rau, MD and CEO, Future Generali India Insurance, said, “we at Future Generali believe in diversity, equity and inclusion, and our efforts are aligned with this vision, be it at the workplace or in the policies we design”.

The general insurance arm of the joint venture between the Future Group and global insurer, Generali, kicked off the Pride celebrations with a special internal and social-media campaign focused on spreading awareness about and acceptance for the LGBTQIA+ community.

The Company and its employees showed their solidarity and support for absolute inclusion. For the celebration saw the office premises of FGII decorated in Pride colours.

Celina Jaitley, actress and LGBTQIA+rights advocate, spoke to the employees and emphasised the need to be more accepting of the community, saying, “All of us, whether or not we belong to the LGBTQIA+ community, should have the freedom to live our lives the way we want, without being questioned by the society. I look forward to a world where we are inspired to love ourselves and explore our real identities, without bias or distinction, and I applaud Future Generali for the initiatives being taken to make this vision a reality.”

According to Sushant Divgikar, actor, dancer, singer, columnist and drag queen, said “People belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community should never feel like they are alone on this journey”.

Divgikar went on to say that “the world is changing and we should be proud of the role we play in this evolving universe”.
