It has come to light that some employees at Accenture’s India unit used fake or forged documents and experience letters to bag jobs at the information technology major. Of course, the said employees have been fired.

The employees in question allegedly used experience letters from fake organisations to be able to bag an appointment at Accenture India. These terminations, the Company claims will not affect its ongoing projects, as reported by The Hindu.

“We operate under a strict Code of Business Ethics and have zero tolerance for any non-adherence. We have discovered an effort to use documentation and experience letters from fraudulent companies to obtain offers of employment from Accenture in India. As a result, we have exited people who we confirmed took advantage of this scheme,” shares an Accenture spokesperson with HRKatha.

“We have taken action to ensure that there will be no impact on our ability to serve our clients. We are continuing to hire, and honor existing job offers for qualified candidates,” says the Company statement.

The exact number of employees terminated has not been officially revealed. However, social media reports that thousands have been impacted.

The Company also discovered that some employment agencies and individuals were demanding money from job seekers to get them jobs at Accenture. The Company clarified that it has not authorised any agency to charge job seekers a fee in return for a job at Accenture.

Accenture went on to clarify that the hiring at the Company is done on the basis of merit alone and that no fee or payment is required or involved in the hiring process at all.
