SN Subrahmanyan, CMD, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) earned Rs 51 crore total salary in FY24, which is 43 per cent more than what he took home the previous year. This amount is 534.57 times the median salary of L&T employees.
This amount includes a basic salary of Rs 3.6 crore, prerequisites amounting to Rs 1.67 crore and commission of Rs 35.28 crore. He also received Rs 10.5 crore as retirement benefits.
The median remuneration of employees of L&T during the financial year was Rs 9.55 lakh. A hike of 1.32 per cent was witnessed in the employees’ median salary in the financial year. The company had 59,018 full-time employees on the roll as on 31 March 2024.
Larsen & Toubro posted a revenue of Rs 2,21,113 crore in revenue, and profits to the tune of Rs 13,059 crore after tax. That means, it registered a growth of 21per cent and 25 per cent, respectively during FY24. Rs 7,847 went towards paying the remunerations of the employees during the year. The amount spent on salaries and wages the previous year was only Rs 7,410 crore.
An average percentage hike of 1.74 per cent was seen in the salaries of employees other than managerial personnel for 2023-24.
R Shankar Raman, chief financial officer, L&T, earned Rs 31.66 crore in total salary, which includes Rs 21.83 crore in commission and Rs 6.5 crore in retirement benefits.
