Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) has signed a wage settlement agreement with the United Union of Hyundai Employees (UUHE), providing a salary hike of Rs 31,000 per month for its workforce. The increase will be phased over a three-year period ending March 2027.
The company said the hike will be implemented in a 55:25:20 ratio across three financial years beginning 1 April, 2024. This structured approach, HMIL noted, balances immediate financial benefits for employees with long-term sustainability for the company.
This marks the second long-term wage agreement between HMIL and its recognised union in recent years. The previous pact, signed in July 2022, covered the period from April 2021 to March 2024. As of 31 August, 2025, UUHE represents 1,981 members, covering nearly 90 per cent of the technician and workmen cadre.
The wage pact comes alongside Hyundai’s continued investments in employee welfare, including health coverage and wellness programmes. Shares of Hyundai Motor India ended two per cent higher at Rs 2,650.40 on the NSE following the announcement.
