Wipro has expanded its operations in South Korea by opening a new Innovation Lab in Seoul and enlarging its office footprint. This move strengthens South Korea’s role as a key growth market for the company and creates more opportunities for local employment.
The Innovation Lab is part of Wipro’s global Wipro Innovation Network (WIN) and will focus on industries such as technology, automotive and manufacturing. It will support projects such as smart manufacturing, supply chain optimisation, and AI enabled operations. By combining Wipro’s global expertise with South Korea’s strong industrial base, the lab will help clients move faster from ideas to real-world solutions.
Wipro already employs several hundred professionals in South Korea and is investing further in local talent. The company is partnering with universities to upskill students and early-career professionals, giving them access to advanced technology projects and innovation programmes. This means more opportunities for graduates and young professionals to work on cutting-edge AI and engineering initiatives.
The expansion also builds on Wipro’s acquisition of HARMAN’s Digital Transformation Solutions unit, which added more than 5,000 professionals worldwide, including senior leaders in South Korea. This integration has strengthened Wipro’s product engineering and digital transformation capabilities, opening up additional career paths in the region.
With the Seoul Innovation Lab, Wipro now operates nine innovation facilities globally, including five in the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Africa region. For South Korean workers, this expansion translates into new jobs, skill-development programmes, and the chance to participate in global innovation projects while staying connected to local industry needs.
