Regulars missing from Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work 2020 list

The Best Places to Work list for 2020 was recently released by Glassdoor. And surprisingly, Google, Facebook and Microsoft, which are usually amongst the top-ranking companies to work for in the US, did not make it to the best 10 for 2020. Most of the names featured on the list are technology companies. This annual list is brought out by Glassdoor, based on employee reviews on factors, such as compensation, benefits, culture and senior management.

HubSpot, a cloud computing firm based in California bagged the first spot this year. The software developing and marketing company, was in the 16th position last year. It outperformed Bain & Company, which had occupied first position in 2019 and dropped to second position in the 2020 list.

The other names that made it to the top 10 are: DocuSign, In-N-Out Burger, Sammons Financial Group, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Intuitive Surgical, Ultimate Software, VIPKid and Southwest Airlines.

Facebook, which was in the seventh position last year, dropped to the 23rd rank, while Google, which held the 8th position in 2019, fell further down to the 11th position for 2020.

Microsoft improved its ranking from the 34th position in 2019 to the 21st in 2020. Apple, on the other hand, dropped down further by 13 places, from the 71st position in 2019 to the 84th position in 2020.

Dell Technologies, Slack and SurveyMonkey were amongst the companies that found themselves on the list for the first time.
