Gallup links employee engagement to nine integral performance outcomes — customer ratings, profitability, productivity, turnover, safety incidents, shrinkage, absenteeism, patient safety incidents and quality.

Tata Capital has made it to the Gallup Great Workplace Award for the first time. This award is based on the proportion of engaged employees in a given organisation. While the global average of engaged employees in companies across 142 countries is 13 per cent, at Tata Capital, it is 90 per cent.

A regular name among the winners is another Tata Group company, Indian Hotels, which has won the award for six times in a row.

This year, the award has been conferred to only 40 countries across the world.

Praveen P Kadle, managing director & CEO, Tata Capital says in an official communique, “We strongly believe that our ‘people’ are our key driver of growth and highly engaged employees are the foundation of a successful organization. We have taken well-structured, long term initiatives to build and sustain high levels of employee engagement and are extremely pleased that a global leader like Gallup has recognized our work in this area.”

Gallup research also shows that companies with this winning combination have a competitive edge as organizations with highly engaged workforces can outperform their peers by 147 per cent in earnings per share.

A panel of Gallup workplace experts evaluates applicants and assesses them against criteria established by the most comprehensive workplace study ever conducted. The top organizations selected gain entry into an elite group of companies that have won the Gallup Great Workplace Award.

Thanks for your informative mailer !

The following HR Headline has interested me :

“Gallup links employee engagement to nine integral performance outcomes —
customer ratings, profitability, productivity, turnover, safety incidents, shrinkage, absenteeism, patient safety incidents and quality.”

Will it be possible for you to share with us how we define each of these attributes viz. nine integral performance outcomes especially safety incidents, shrinkage & patient safety incidents to be specific. While other outcomes could be comprehended more or less, we did not exactly know what Gallup meant by –

      • safety incidents,
      • shrinkage &
      • patient safety incidents

      Thanks,

      Rohinton K. Patel
