The University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched an academic job portal to help candidates who have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET), State Eligibility Test (SET) and Ph.D, to look for suitable jobs. The UGC job portal will help NET, SET, PhD qualified candidates put their candidature out there for universities/colleges and other employers to connect with them and offer them employment.
The new job portal has been launched on the official UGC website, ugc.ac.in. All interested candidates need to do is register on the portal and create their online profiles, so that prospective employers, who have also registered on the portal and posted vacancies, can connect with them with suitable opportunities. The job seekers have the option to browse through the vacancies posted on the site and apply to any of them, if they are of their interest.
The portal is being upgraded so that non-teaching jobs can also be included. New features are also being added and will become functional soon.
This single-window job platform has been developed with the aim of making hiring easy for all colleges and universities. It will prove to be a boon for those PhD, NET and SET qualified job seekers looking for teaching and non-teaching jobs.
Once all universities, colleges and higher-education institutes post their vacancies on the portal, there will be better talent mapping and appointments to fill up vacant positions will be made faster.
