Microsoft India has undergone a senior-level reshuffling with the resignation of Anant Maheshwari, its president. Maheshwari, after serving the company for around seven years, has decided to step down from his position to look for opportunities outside of Microsoft.

During his tenure as president, Maheshwari played a key role in overseeing Microsoft’s business and operations in India. He led efforts to engage with policymakers, customers, business partners, and the industry ecosystem, driving digital transformation and scaling businesses through the power of artificial intelligence. Maheshwari’s departure marks a significant change in leadership for Microsoft India.

While Microsoft has expressed gratitude for his contributions and wished him success in his future endeavours, it has not announced his successor yet.

In the wake of Maheshwari’s resignation, media reports indicate that Irina Ghose, chief operating officer, Microsoft, has been appointed as the new managing director for India. However, Microsoft has refrained from commenting on this news.

In a major senior-level rejig, Microsoft India has also announced the appointments of Navtej Bal as the new chief operating officer and Venkat Krishnan as the executive director of the public sector business. These leadership changes reflect Microsoft’s commitment to maintaining a strong presence in India and furthering its engagement with customers, partners, and policymakers.
