Archana Chitnavis has taken on the role of group head-HR, Tata Power, after serving as lead-talent acquisition and human resource business partner (HRBP) for a little less than two years, at Mahindra Susten.

An alumna of Thadomal Shahani Engineering College, from where she completed a BE in information technology, Chitnavis also holds an MBA degree in human resources from Sydenham Institute of Management, Mumbai.

Post her training at Stock Holding Corporation of India, where she was responsible for introducing competency mapping for various levels across departments, she joined Adani Electricity as HR business partner, in 2007.

At Adani, Chitnavis served the longest tenure of her career.

She successfully implemented the Balanced Scorecard-based performance management programme, the mid-year review process and identified the scope for enhancing the same. She managed to conduct PMS workshops, appraisal training programmes, and goal-setting exercises for employees across all levels at various zones. Amongst other things, her responsibilities included setting the parameters for performance tracking and monitoring the same regularly.

She also initiated a performance improvement plan programme for the Mumbai business, and facilitated the rewards and recognition programme. Her HR generalist duties saw her partnering with management on employee relations issues across the region, including disciplinaries and grievances.

After spending a little over 15 years with Adani Electricity, she moved to Mahindra Susten in August 2022 for a stint that lasted a year and eight months.

Known to be a diligent and committed HR professional, talent acquisition and management, business excellence applications, OD and change management, PMS, employee engagement and HR analytics are her forte.

HRKatha wishes her all the best in her new assignment at Tata Power.
