As part of the Atmanirbhar Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) initiative, employees working on contracts will now receive pay slips. The announcement was made during the Republic Day celebration at the CSMC headquarters, by the G Srikanth, municipal commissioner.
Addressing the gathered audience, Srikanth highlighted CSMC’s commitment to innovation and service provision for residents. He emphasised ongoing efforts to make the entire city septic tank-free, with plans to implement this initiative soon in Padegaon and Mitmitta areas to prevent groundwater pollution. The administration also aims to enhance water supply, drainage and garden facilities.
While discussing achievements, he also mentioned the city’s improved ranking in Swachh Survekshan and the endeavours to replicate the cleanliness model of Indore. He revealed that solid waste- management initiatives are in progress to achieve a 100 per cent clean and beautiful city. The administration is actively implementing innovative ideas across various sectors, including schools, Savitri Control Room, city bus transport, gardens and more.
The ceremony witnessed the participation of various dignitaries, including additional commissioner Ranjeet Patil, city engineer AB Deshmukh, deputy commissioner Somnath Jadhav, medical officer Dr Paras Mandlecha, urban planning director, Manoj Garje, chief auditor Shivaji Naikwade, freedom fighters, department heads, school representatives, students, ex-servicemen, employees and residents.
The proceedings of the ceremony were conducted by cultural officer Shambhu Vishwasu, and Srikanth inaugurated the administrative committee’s new cell in the presence of dignitaries, signifying a step towards improved administrative functions.
